Hormones are the messengers that tell your tissues and organs what to do. They help control many of your body’s major processes, including metabolism and reproduction. 

When you have a hormonal imbalance, it can effect your entire body 😵‍💫

When our body is constantly under stress, we experience inflammation. Chronic inflammation can lead to hormonal imbalances, blood sugar irregularities, decreased immune function, gut dysfunction and more. When one hormone is off others can follow.

Smoothies are one of my favorites to make and here’s why⬇️

🥤They so versatile! There’s so many different t kinds to can make. The possibilities are endless.
🥤They’re great to add extra fruits and veggies in your day
🥤They’re quick to make.
 

Here’s a great tip!👇
When I buy ginger and turmeric I scrub but don’t peel slice and put in freezer. 

‼️Did you know most vitamins are in the skins of fruits and veggies? I add them both in here with berries another powerhouse, spinach, protein powder, chia seeds for more fiber and omega 3s and almond milk!

Sound familiar 🤦‍♀️🫠I know it’s frustrating when you just went out and bought a truckload of what your kid was eating and now decided they no longer are loving it 😂

When kids eat one thing over and over again for one meal or a few meals or for days it’s called a food jag, and it’s NORMAL. 

Kids are intuitive and will typically eat what they need! They tire of foods and then are on to the next! 

Do not underestimate how important snacks are as they are mini meals and often needed to meet the energy of growing bodies. It also gives us a chance to offer new foods. 

Here’s a few tips⬇️ 
1️⃣Setting aside time for snacks, having them sit and take a break so they can focus on their hunger and fullness
2️⃣Serve a variety of foods containing protein, carbohydrates and fats as they each digest at different rates 
3️⃣Keep it simple and quick
4️⃣Structure the timing of snacks and meals every 2-4 hours making sure your kids are hungry when they sit to eat as then they are more likely to try new foods.

Here’s some things I said to my kids about food back in the day that I wouldn't say now⬇️

🙈Pressure them to eat foods by saying:
Just try it 
Finish your plate
You can’t have dessert until you eat your dinner

🙈Labeling Food:
This is junk food
This is bad for you
This is good for you

When you say things like this you label foods as good and bad, kids can feel shame, eat food in private, and it could possibly trigger an eating disorder.

With your child and adolescent, follow the division of responsibility for feeding⬇️

👩‍🍳The parent is responsible for what they offer, when they offer it, and where.
